Abstract
This study considers whether imitative violence gainst women can be as sociated with an incident in December, 1989. At that time, an armed yo uth killed 14 female engineering students at the Ecole Polytechnique o f the University of Montreal. Time series indicate that subsequent hom icides with female victims probably do not follow an imitative pattern .
