Coumarin coupled with the thiazole ring has been introduced on the pos
ition-4-of the 3-arylsydnones via 4-bromoacetyl-3-arylsydnones in a si
ngle step method to give the title compounds (4a-l). Preliminary antim
icrobial screening of all these compounds has shown antifungal activit
y for the methyl and halogen substituted derivatives equal to that of
the standard drug.
