Abstract
Transfer of aroyl group from N-aroylimidazoles (1a-d) to the enolates generated from ethyl acetoacetate (2) and acetylacetone (3) has been a chieved successfully. Insitu cleavage of acetyl group of the aroylated products has also been observed.
