Abstract
5-Substituted-2-aminobenzenethiols (la-e) on reaction with 4-chloro-4' -methoxybenzalacetophenone (II) in pyridine give yl)-8-substituted-2,5 -dihydro-1,5-benzothiazepines (IIIa-e) in satisfactory yields. Title c ompounds are characterized by elemental analyses and IR, H-1 NMR and m ass spectral studies.
