Abstract
A formulation of the boundary element method (BEM) for dynamic analysi s of 3-D viscoelastic structures modeled by the fractional operator co nstitutive equations is reviewed. The ICAP/3090 is a large grain paral lel research computer that increases still further the level of parall elism provided by the IBM ES/3090(2) family of parallel vector compute rs. The ICAP/3090 is described and the parallel numerical implementati on of the BEM formulation on this machine is discussed. Computational results from and parallel performance of the code are included.
