ENHANCEMENT, IMPLEMENTATION, AND PERFORMANCE OF AN ADAPTIVE SHORT-TERM LOAD FORECASTING ALGORITHM

An adaptive load forecasting algorithm that was originally developed f or the one-hour-ahead time period has been extensively enhanced and im plemented at the TU Electric System Operating Center (TUSOC), Dallas, Texas. The major enhancement is the ability to forecast total system h ourly load as far ahead as five days. This paper describes the enhance ments, forecasting procedure, performance, and actual implementation o f the adaptive algorithm.
