Abstract
Specimens of Gigartina pectinata Dawson deposited in herbariums and sa mples in formalin were reviewed. We observed that they present reprodu ctive traits described for the genus Chondracanthus Kutzing and, there fore, we propose a new combination of Gigartina pectinata, as Chondrac anthus pectinatus (Dawson) L. et R. Aguilar comb nov.
