A case of 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA)-induced pancreatitis in a 7-ye
ar-old girl with ulcerative colitis is described. Pancreatitis was fir
st diagnosed after 7 months of treatment with 5-ASA by mouth. When she
later received 5-ASA rectally, pancreatitis recurred after 2 weeks of
treatment. She rapidly recovered after withdrawal of 5-ASA.
