Abstract
Self-broadened and N2, Ar, He-broadened halfwidth and pressure shift c oefficients of the rotational transitions in the 00(0)3-00(0)0 band of (CO2)-C-12-O-16 have been measured from laboratory absorption recorde d at room temperature with a Fourier transform spectrometer. Compariso n is made with the results of a theoretical calculation based on a sem iclassical model. Good agreement is obtained for all the IR vibrationa l bands for which data are available. It has been shown that the shift s mainly originate from vibrational dephasing. Infrared line shifts ha ve been compared with results obtained from stimulated Raman spectrosc opy and we show that they are not consistent. A number of possible exp lanations have been discussed to account for this discrepancy.
