CURRENT DRAG FROM THE VANDERWAALS INTERACTION

We consider the van der Waals interaction for systems carrying a nonze ro current. We show that in simple cases like two parallel wires or sh eets, the van der Waals attraction increases quadratically with the di fference between the currents in the two subsystems. This implies a no nzero current drag at zero temperature, a new effect that could be det ected experimentally.
