This article presents a brief review of the literature concerning the
curriculum deemphasis for removable prosthodontics, especially on the
subject of complete dentures. The authors surveyed commercial dental l
aboratories specializing in removable dental prosthetics in three majo
r Texas cities to determine whether dentists were submitting adequate
records and information with their complete denture work authorization
s. Results indicate that dentists are requesting services from their l
aboratories without providing adequate records.
