Abstract
Superoxide radical ions were observed at the surface of an amorphous s ilica active in the catalytic ammoximation of cyclohexanone with molec ular oxygen. They were generated by the contact of oxygen with a therm ally activated sample. The presence of organic radicals on the spent c atalyst, which probably played a role in the catalytic process, was al so observed.
