R. Cingolani et al., TEMPORAL EVOLUTION OF THE ELECTRON-HOLE PLASMA RECOMBINATION IN QUANTUM WIRES, Semiconductor science and technology, 7(3B), 1992, pp. 287-288
We report the results of a spectroscopic investigation of the radiativ
e recombination processes occurring in a dense electron-hole plasma co
nfined in quasi-one-dimensional semiconductor quantum wires. Intersubb
and transitions involving quantum wire states with quantum number as h
igh as n(y) = 5 are observed in the photoluminescence spectra recorded
under stationary conditions of high excitation intensity. The tempora
l evolution of the luminescence is characterized by a decay time of ab
out 800 ps longer than the one measured in the two-dimensional referen
ce heterostructure.
