A method is proposed which allows use of a unified model for numerical
study of combustion and detonation in homogeneous gas mixtures, inclu
ding transient processes, as well as determination of conditions under
which the combustion-detonation transition develops. The mathematical
modeling results presented permit classification of flow regimes whic
h develop in the fuel mixture upon forced ignition of a portion of the
mixture. The calculations show that the qualitative character of proc
ess development depends significantly on the values of the defining pr
oblem parameters: the kinetics of the reaction, energy liberation, flo
w turbulization during motion, etc.
