Abstract
The direct recording of a detonation cell in a gasoline-air aerosol fo rmed explosively in an unconfined volume is reported. The critical ene rgies of initiation of detonation in the aerosol, calculated according to the standard equation, are found to be fairly consistent with the experimental results. The recorded irregular oscillations of the cell dimensions are attributed to nonuniformity of the fuel concentration.
