Abstract
The merits of the choice and judgment methodologies as presented in Lo pez, Lopez, and Fong (1991) are reexamined. Limitations of the simple choice methodology are discussed. Concern is expressed that a return t o the simple choice methodology in cross-cultural counseling research will provide a weak, unrealistic test of preferences for counselors an d portray Mexican Americans as basing their preferences solely on ethn ic schemata.
