Simultaneous space and time resolved measurements of O2, N2, H2O and H
-2 have been made using spontaneous Raman scattering in a turbulent H-
2/N2 diffusion flame. A narrowband XeCl excimer laser working at 308 n
m and an intensified multichannel array camera were used to give full
information about all major species and spectral background simultaneo
usly. The fluorescence background from OH radicals in the high tempera
ture regions of the flame was taken into account by a background fitti
ng routine. This paper presents new experimental results containing co
ncentrations. temperatures, mixture fractions f, f-plots and rms of fl
uctuations of f in comparison to numerical predicted results obtained
with a Reynolds stress flame model.
