The paper deals with the action of light pressure on a double-LAMBDA s
ystem in case of four travelling optical waves. We find that light pre
ssure effects are completely determined by the relative phase PHI of e
xciting fields. The time evolution of the velocity distribution for di
fferent values of PHI is obtained. The dependence of the transversal t
emperature of the double-LAMBDA-atom beam on the phase PHI is calculat
ed and it is shown that under certain conditions T can reach approxima
tely 3 muK.
