Phytochemical analysis of the leaves from Chrmolaena subscandens affor
ded beta-sitosterol, umbelliferone, p-methoxybenzoic acid, and several
known flavonoids, as well as a new one, 5,7-dihydroxy-8,4'-dimethoxyf
lavanone, which we have named subscandenin (1). The structure of this
new flavanone was established by spectral methods.
