Tm. Aminabhavi et Sk. Raikar, A STUDY ON MIXING PROPERTIES OF BINARY-MIXTURES OF BROMOFORM WITH ALIPHATIC-ALCOHOLS, Journal of chemical and engineering data, 38(2), 1993, pp. 310-319
Densities, refractive indices, speeds of sound, and viscosities of the
binary mixtures of bromoform with 2-chloroethanol, 1-butanol, 1-penta
nol, 3-methyl-1-butanol, 2-methyl-1-propanol, 1-hexanol, 1-heptanol, 1
-nonanol, 2-methoxyethanol, and 2-octanol are presented in the tempera
ture interval of 298.15-308.15 K. From these data the excess molar vol
ume, excess isentropic compressibility, and excess molar refraction ha
ve been calculated. The sign and magnitude of these quantities have be
en used to discuss the type and nature of binary interactions. Further
more, the computed results are fitted to the Redlich-Kister polynomial
relation to estimate the regression coefficients and standard errors.
Viscosity data have been analyzed by using the viscosity equations su
ggested by McAllister, Auslaender, and Heric; a polynomial relation is
also used.
