Abstract
The method of extended crossed beams was used to study inelastic colli sions of slow electrons with species generated by vaporization of Al2O 3 from an open surface heated by an electron beam. The beam of vaporiz ed particles was determined to consist of two independent components - atomic aluminum and aluminum monoxide - excited by electron impact. D issociative excitation of AlO was not observed.
