Abstract
Reaction of Pd(OAc)2 with Bu3P (1:1) in benzene or THF afforded extrao rdinarily active zerovalent palladium species as a pale yellow solutio n, the nature of which has been discussed on the basis of the signific ant difference in catalytic reactivity and (P{H}-NMR)-P-31-H-1 feature s between such a catalyst and one prepared from Pd2(dba)3 and excess B u3P.
