Abstract
Beekeepers need a source of young queens for maintaining productive ho ney bee colonies. These queens call be bought from large-scale queen p roducers. In order to produce queens in large numbers, those queen pro ducers transfer very small worker bee larvae into artificial queen cel l cups, in a procedure known as grafting. Many beekeepers find graftin g even a few queens difficult because these small larvae are hard to s ee. Therefore, many beekeepers cannot duplicate the queen rearing tech nique employed by large-scale queen producers, but there are alternati ves.
