The ammonia synthesis catalysts obtained by impregnation of charcoal w
ith the solution of Fe(NO3)3 and K4 [Fe(CN)6] have been studied. Sampl
e activities were measured in an integral react or under the pressure
of 10 M Pa and their phase composition was studied using the X-ray dif
fractometry method. Two forms of iron have been found - the crystallic
alpha-Fe and the well dispersed iron undetectable by X-ray diffractom
etry. The most active catalysts have the K:Fe molar ratio of about 1:5
, The greatest amount of high dispersed iron for that composition has
been found.
