Ls. Kong et al., FE-57 MOSSBAUER-EFFECT IN THE COMPOUND ER2FE17C2.5 PREPARED BY MELT SPINNING, Journal of physics. Condensed matter, 5(15), 1993, pp. 2415-2422
The compound Er2Fe17C2.5 formed by melt spinning has the rhombohedral
Th2Zn17-type structure. The spin reorientation transition occurs at ab
out 136 K. The Fe-57 Mossbauer effect was measured in the temperature
range 12-300 K. From the acceptable fit we find that the effective hyp
erfine fields of various sites decrease in the order 6c > 18f > 18h >
9d. The anisotropy of the effective hyper-fine field is observed to be
different for different sites. The temperature dependence of the quad
rupole splitting shows a large increase at around T(sr) with increasin
g temperature.
