The data on ten gold fields located in different geological- and geoch
emical-landscape conditions have been used to study the chemical redis
tribution of gold in the sequence: source rock --> underground water -
-> surface water --> gold deposit. Complex ions are the main form of g
old in the underground water. The transition of ion-molecular gold int
o colloidal and further into suspension forms takes place in the near-
surface water flows. Small particles of virgin metals serve as seeds f
or gold deposition from the solutions. Impurities of copper, zinc, lea
d e.t.c. favor gold purification. The hydrogenic component is evaluate
d to be high enough in the total mass of alluvial deposit.
