Abstract
Lines of light-induced scattering with extraordinary polarization from two ordinary polarized pump waves in LiNbO3:Fe crystals are observed. A nonlinear mixing of four copropagating waves in the crystal with ph otovoltaic charge transport is shown to be the reason for parametric a mplification of the seed radiation scattered from optical imperfection s of the sample.
