Abstract
We describe a new synthetic route to amphiphilic derivatives of naphth alene disulfonic acid which have been found to be active against HIV-1 and HIV-2. The compounds were obtained in good yield by a new efficie nt acylation of amino-naphthalene disulfonic acid using N-acyl-thiazol idine-2-thiones as acylating agents.
