Abstract
The synthesis of substituted 2-aminophenyl heterocyclic ketones, key i ntermediates to the preparation of 1,4-benzodiazepines has been achiev ed in one step and in good, yield from the corresponding anthranilic a cid, by treatment with heterocyclic lithium reagents and chlorotrimeth ylsilane.
