Rhodacarboranes closo-3,3-(Ph3P)2-3-H-3,1,2-RhC2B9H11 and closo-(eta2,
eta3-C7H7CH2)-3,1,2-RhC2B9H11 are catalysts for the alcoholysis of hy
dridesilanes. Closo-3,3-(eta2, eta3-C7H7CH2)-3,1,2-RhCB9H11 displays g
reater activity than closo-3,3-(Ph3P)2-3-H-3,1,2-RhC2B9H11 though both
rhodacarboranes catalyze the alcoholysis of hydridesilanes more effic
iently than (Ph3P)3RhCl.
