Abstract
he radiophotoluminescence (RPL) spectra of poly(methyl methacrylate) ( PMMA) doped with diphenylthiocarbazone (H-2DZ) and its metal complexes (Hg, Cd, and Zn) have been investigated before and after gamma-irradi ation. It was found that complex formation resulted in significant cha nges in both the position of the excitation band and the intensity of the RPL band of H-2DZ. Gamma radiation induces degradation to the RPL of Zn(HDZ)2 and Hg(HDZ)2 over the range 300-6000 Gy. Irradiation produ ces an enhancement to the RPL intensity of H-2DZ and Cd(HDZ)2 over the range 1-25-3.12 kGy. Both degradation and build-up of RPL signals are stable with time at room temperature.
