F. Formiga et al., SPONTANEOUS TENDINOUS BREAKAGE IN SYSTEMIC ERYTHEMATOUS LUPUS - DISCUSSION OF 2 CASES, Revista Clinica Espanola, 192(4), 1993, pp. 175-177
Spontaneous tendinous breakage is a rare complication in patients with
systemic erythematous lupus. Bilateral tendinous breakage is an excep
tional phenomena. Two cases of bilateral spontaneous breakage are disc
ussed, one achillea, the other patellar, its frequency is compared in
the scientific literature with the one found in the patients at our ce
nter. Magnetic Resonance usefulness is underlined to confirm the diagn
osis of tendinous breakage.
