Abstract
The relationship between the microstress and/or the size of mosaic blo ck and the wear resistance of 52100 and 1080 steels were studied by me ans of X-ray diffraction and dry sliding wear testing. Worn surface la yers of steels were observed by means of transmission electron microsc opy. The results show that there is an important relationship between the microstress and/or the size of mosaic block and the wear resistanc e of the steels.
