Abstract
A synthetic procedure leading to an amino-bonded stationary phase for high-performance liquid chromatography was developed. The silica surfa ce was first coated with a silicone polymer monolayer and an amino fun ctionality was subsequently attached to the polymer layer. The polymer -coated amino-bonded phase showed improved stability and separation in the analysis of carbohydrates and nucleotides over conventional amino propylsilylated silicas.
