STORED VIDEO HANDLING TECHNIQUES

This paper describes basic computer-assisted techniques to achieve a v ersatile video operation environment for more familiar and enhanced vi deo services. A video-icon-based intuitive visual interface and a vide o indexing method based on video feature extraction are proposed. Key algorithms for automatically detecting cut points and for extracting c amera operation information are also proposed. These techniques, which are useful for handling stored videos, will be important for future v ideo services coupled with the development of computer and communicati ons technologies.
