STANDARDIZATION ACTIVITIES ON PRIVATE NETWORKS

The focus of standardization in private networks is shifting from LANs and PBXs to the border area between public networks and private netwo rks, and high speed multi media private networks. Examples of the form er are MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) and PISN (Private Integrated Se rvice Network), IVD LAN (Integrated Voice and Data LAN) and FFOL (FDDI Follow On LAN) are examples of high speed multi media private network s. NTT supports and actively engages in the standardization activities at both international and domestic standardization bodies.
