Abstract
The reaction C-12(nu, nu)C-12 in scintillator counters can be used to measure the flux of nu(mu, tau), nu(mu, tau)BAR from collapsing stars . Low-background counters with high neutron detection efficiencies wou ld allow the possibility to separate the carbon excitation and inverse beta-decay interactions. The possibility of measuring mu and tau neut rino masses with the scintillation detectors is discussed.
