Abstract
The C-13 and F-19 NMR spectra of 2,2'-difluoro-4,4'-dimethylbiphenyl ( BIP), 4,5-difluoro-9,10-dihydrophenanthrene (PHE) and their tricarbony lchromium complexes are reported. The C-13-F-19 couplings between carb onyl carbons and aromatic fluorine were used to determine the structur e and conformation of the investigated complexes. To support the concl usions obtained, the structure of one of the BIP complexes was establi shed by X-ray crystallography.
