Abstract
The thermal conductivity (lambda), thermal diffusivity (a) and volumet ric heat capacity (rhoc) of polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) and polyvinyl alc ohol (PVA) of different molecular weights were measured in the tempera ture range 20-90-degrees-C using various solvents. The results showed that the thermal properties of solutions depend on the functional grou ps of the polymers, temperature, concentrations of PVAc and PVA in the medium and the type of solvents. The mechanism of heat transfer was d iscussed. The role of convection and radiation was taken into consider ation.
