Abstract
A novel polymer film, poly(NAP-2) was synthesized by electrochemical o xidation of 2-naphthol. The polymer structure, elucidated by in situ m ultiple internal reflection Fourier transform spectroscopy (MIRFTIRS) was confirmed by electron spin resonance spectroscopy. It consists of polymers P and oligomers Q. The P structure comprises alternate naphth ylene and furan rings while the Q structure bears quinonoid groups in the chain.
