Abstract
We successfully performed a total resection of the pulmonary artery tr unk and replaced it with an equine pericardial xenograft roll in a pat ient with a recurrent leiomyosarcoma. We believe, based on anatomic an d embryologic principles, total rather than partial resection of the p ulmonary artery trunk should be the treatment of choice for primary le iomyosarcomas of the pulmonary artery.
