The technique of single-lung transplantation at our institution has ev
olved as our experience has increased over the past 3 1/2 years. This
technique is described and illustrated. Surgical staples are used to p
erform recipient pneumonectomy and provide free access to the hilar st
ructures for anastomoses. The modified, telescoped bronchial anastomos
is allows healing while obviating the need for omentopexy as seen in o
ur last 30 bronchial anastomoses.
