CALCULATION OF DIPOLE STRENGTHS FOR MAGNETIC DIPOLE TRANSITIONS IN LANTHANIDE SPECTRA

The quantitative treatment of intensities of lanthanide spectra has be en the subject of several papers [1],[2],[3],[4],[5]. However due to t he kind of samples used or to the type of polarisation of light, some subtle differences in the expressions relating calculated and experime ntal values appear to be very misleading for the interpretation of the results. It is thought that subsequent papers could gain in clarifica tion by using Table 1., derived in this paper.
