Modifications of the structural, compositional, and charge transport p
roperties in an epitaxial trilayer YBa2Cu3O7-x/PrBa2Cu3O7/YBa2Cu3O7-x(
Y23/Pr23/Y23) thin film on a single crystalline SrTiO3 (STO) substrate
as a function of laser pulse fluence are investigated. A transition f
rom the semiconductor-like temperature dependence of the electrical re
sistance R(t) to that typical for a high-temperature superconducting t
hin film is observed as a result of pulsed laser irradiation with lase
r fluences up to almost-equal-to 2.0 J/cm2. The channeling regime in t
he film is suppressed at fluence less than 0.7 J/cm2. Both observation
s evidence the transformation of the single crystalline film into a po
lycrystalline one with some texture. At fluences higher than almost-eq
ual-to 2.0 J/cm2, the metallic properties degrade, though the temperat
ure of the superconducting transition remains constant. Analysis of RB
S spectra and R(T) data allows to consider the process of interdiffusi
on between Y23 and Pr23 layers as incorporation and mixture of corresp
onding superconducting and insulating grains.
