The principles of a local boundary integral equation (LBIE) method for
two-dimensional potential problems, based on either Taylor or Fourier
series, are outlined. Numerical results for some test cases, confirmi
ng the preliminary results reported in two recent papers,1,2 are given
to show that both Taylor and Fourier series can be used in their own
rights and provide solutions of impressive accuracy.
