N. Edison et al., CHARACTERIZATION OF A CAPILLARY-DISCHARGE PLASMA, Physical review. E, Statistical physics, plasmas, fluids, and related interdisciplinary topics, 47(2), 1993, pp. 1305-1312
The electron density and temperature of the plasma produced by a capil
lary discharge with open geometry have been characterized. Peak densit
ies of 1 x 10(19) cm-3 and electron temperatures of 2.5 eV are observe
d. The plasma is uniform over distances on the order of 1 cm. The time
evolution of both the electron density and temperature profiles has b
een studied over the duration of the 5-mus-long discharge.
