Equine motor neuron disease is a new neurologic disorder in horses. Th
e disease is characterized by weakness, trembling and weight loss and
is confirmed by histopathologic examination of the spinal cord and bra
in stem. No confirmed cases have been described outside of North Ameri
ca. In this article three cases of equine motor neuron disease are pre
sented. In two of these the clinical diagnosis was confirmed by post m
ortem histopathologic examination.
