Abstract
Veno-lymphatic angiodysplasia may be the reason for the development of varicose leg veins. This form of angiodysplasia is illustrated by two case reports. Until now, angiodysplasia as possible cause of recurren t varicose veins after surgical treatment has not been included in the classification of the morphological types of recurrent varicose veins . The surgical approach exposing the common femoral vein in a first st ep and secondly performing a complete resection of the malformation wi th careful consideration of the adjacant femoral vessels is recommende d as the treatment of choice.
