Abstract
Bathymetry, satellite-derived gravity, and interpreted seismic reflect ion data across the northern Falkland/Malvinas Plateau fossil continen t-ocean transform rim may record the degree of mechanical coupling acr oss the boundary after ridge-transform intersection time. The rim comp rises a broad microcontinental block in the east and a continental mar ginal fracture ridge 59-100 km wide elsewhere. Free-air gravity anomal ies tentatively suggest that the fracture ridge is locked against ocea nic elastic lithosphere both to the north (Argentine Basin) and south (Central Falkland Basin).
