Abstract
Kinetic studies of Ti(III) reduction of Co(III) and Ru(III) oxidants, and electrochemical and spectroscopic studies of diruthenium complexes that are analogs for the transition states of those reactions, lead t o the conclusion that dihydroxyquinolate anions provide a moderate deg ree of cross-bridge coupling between metal t2g orbitals, so that rate constants for electron transfer between such orbitals can be measured on the stopped-flow time scale.
